The College of Education recently welcomed Barbara Savage to the position of Grants Manager. She holds a B.S. in Business from University of Phoenix and a Master of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
Savage’s business administration skills were honed with approximately 20 years of experience in human resource management, facility management, budget and grant management. She began working at FAU in 2007 as a program assistant at the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts & Letters, then as a program assistant in the department of Teaching and Learning at College of Education from 2008 – 2010. She now comes to the COE from a coordinator position in the Dean’s Office of Arts and Letters.
Matin Luther King authored her favorite saying, “Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain.”
Savage will be taking over COE day-to-day grant responsibilities on both pre-award and post-award sides.
“Getting acquainted with all of our different grants and procedures while learning our quirks and special circumstances is a big undertaking, but her background and years of experience at FAU should ease her way,” said Rick Laliberte, COE Business Manager.
She may be reached at bsavag1@kome-shibahara.com or 561-297-0437 in ED 47, room 219 in the Dean’s Office suite on the Boca Campus.
