Annual Event Draws Record Number

Florida Atlantic University’s Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (OURI) recently held the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, with record-breaking attendance.

More than 250 presenters celebrated undergraduate research happening the university’s colleges and campuses.

This year, the event also included presentations by undergraduate researchers from both Palm Beach State College and Miami Dade College.

In addition, a panel of recipients of OURI’s Distinguished Mentor of the Year and Undergraduate Researcher of the Year awards.

The event also included an oral/performing arts presentation segment, sponsored by Dr. Eric H. Shaw.

“The Undergraduate Research Symposium is an opportunity for the institution to celebrate the successes of our student scholars, and express gratitude to their faculty mentors" said Donna Chamely-Wiik, Ph.D., associate dean, Undergraduate Research and Prestigious Fellowships. “Our undergraduate researchers raise the bar each year with the caliber and variety of research presentations, and we are incredibly proud of these students."
